This cocktail has a heavier pour of champagne (or whichever sparkling wine you want to use), and the handmade strawberry puree enables the cocktail to conclude on a pleasant strawberry flavor. Additionally, it also provides a stunning color.
The Strawberry Champagne is perfect whether you're hosting brunch with your girls, searching for an Easter brunch beverage, or want to prepare a champagne cocktail for your sweetie on Valentine's Day (or any other occasion).
Ingredients
- 1 pound (450 g) strawberries, hulled and sliced in half
- 1/4 cup (50 g) sugar
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) strawberry flavored liqueur or vodka, optional
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) fresh squeezed lemon juice, about 1/2 of a juicy lemon
- 1 750- ml bottle Gallivant Bubbly White, chilled
- Sliced strawberries, for garnish
Method
- Puree the strawberries, sugar, liqueur and lemon juice in a blender until very smooth (makes appoximately 1 1/2 cups puree).
- Pour through a fine strainer set over a container with a pouring spout.
- Pour the puree into glass flutes to fill by 1/3 (about 2-3 tablespoons per glass). Slowly pour Champagne over the puree and stir gently - it will bubble up. Garnish glass with a slice of strawberry and enjoy.
